Llegamos a Milán invitadas por Dolce & Gabbana para Revista Detalle, así que tuvimos el privilegio no solo de asistir al desfile, sino que además de poder conocer más de cerca los valores de la marca por medio de una cena el día anterior en el restaurant de Dolce & Gabbana en Corso Venezia y posteriormente una visita privada al re-see de la colección al showroom, donde revisamos cada detalle.
Este es el look que elegí para asistir al desfile. Creo que es un look que me representa muchísimo, no obstante se aleje de la clásica estética milanesa, mucho más colorida y ecléctica. Creo que es un look que tiene un leve aire vintage, sobre todo por el corte de la falda y que ¨levanté¨ por medio de los fringes del clutch y unos manolos atípicos.
We arrived to Milan invited by Dolce & Gabbana for Revista Detalle. So we had the privilege to not only attend the runway, but also to get to know up close the true value of the brand through a dinner that was thrown in the restaurant owned by Dolce & Gabbana in Corso Venezia, followed by a private re-see of the collection in their showroom, where we looked over every detail.
This is the look I chose to attend the runway. I think it’s a look that truly represents me, even though it drifts away from the classic Milanese esthetic which is much more colorful and eclectic. I believe it’s a look that has sort of a vintage feel to it, specially for the skirts cut which I “lifted” with the fringes of the clutch and atypical sleeves.

A diferencia del look anterior, este si que representa mucho más la estética de la mujer de Milán: son muy arriesgadas con los colores y estampados. En mi caso, me decanté por una tendencia que en principio, es ¨políticamente¨ incorrecta: la mezcla de listones en direcciones perpendiculares. La regla que seguí, es la que tomo en cuenta para la mezcla de cualquier otro estampado, esto es la coherencia en la paleta de colores.
Se que es arriesgado, pero precisamente eso es lo que me inspiró la mujer de Milán. Si me preguntan, creo que llevan la gracia de mezclar los colores y estampados en la sangre. No hay combinación que se les vea forzada y no temen a las texturas ni a los colores. Aprendí eso sí de ellas, la importancia que le dan a las telas y al fitting, pues priorizan telas nobles (es cosa de subirse al metro y observar a mujeres jóvenes, adultas y mayores) y ocupan las prendas sin ajustarlas en exceso, lo que les da una elegancia sin que se note mucho esfuerzo (hay que reconocer que las chilenas sobre todo, pecamos a veces de ajustarnos todo).
También, no temen a los accesorios statement y se la juegan completamente con lentes de sol llamativos y carteras con muchas aplicaciones, aunque siempre manteniendo un equilibrio visual. Para ponerme a tono, me enamoré de la pequeña ¨parka¨ de Moschino que arropa a mi Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus y salí campante por las calles de Milán.

Unlike me previous outfit, this one represents the style and esthetics of a Milanese woman: the are very bold when it comes to color and print. In my case I opted for a trend that, at first is very “politically” incorrect, anything perpendicular is a no. The rule I followed (in order to break such rule) was the same I use when mixing prints: “be coherent in your color pallet”.
I know it’s bold, but it’s exactly what inspired me about the women here. If you ask me, I think they carry the magic touch of mixing colors and textures in their blood. I learned from them the importance of fabric and fitting, for they prioritize nobel fabrics ( it’s as easy as getting on the subway and looking at young, middle aged and older women) and they use them without making them excessively tight, which gives them an effortless classy look. (we must admit that we in Chile tend to tighten everything a little too much).
Also, they don’t fear statement accessories and they go all in in flashy sunglasses and purses with infinite applications but always maintaining visual balance. To keep up, I bought this tiny Moschino, phone parka that keeps my Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus warm and went out in the town.
