Les advierto que este post es largo jajajaja!

Me han preguntado un montón por este look =) Como estoy partiendo con el blog, empecemos inmediatamente con una confesión: resulta que la parte de arriba, es en realidad un traje de baño!!

Hace muchísimo tiempo atrás, vi este traje de baño negro en una tienda chilena que lo importaba! Lamentablemente hubo mil problemas con el envío y para colmo cuando ya lo había encargado, lo vi en asos.com. Lo encargué en diciembre y lo recibí en marzo (sí! Así que para qué entrar en detalles de que tienda era).

Cuando al fin lo vi, pensé que había valido la pena toda la espera y rápidamente me lo probé… FAIL! ME QUEDABA UN POCO CORTO DE TIRO! Después de tanto trámite, definitivamente no me daba el ánimo para cambiarlo, pero tampoco iba a perder la inversión! Entonces decidí que iba a ser un body! La tela es más bien mate y gruesa, además debajo del pantalón, no se notaba prácticamente ¨el problema¨! Como lo iba a usar de body, decidí que el escote era demasiado y que tenía que hacer algo al respecto. Lo dejé ahí, porque ya tenía pensada la solución.

Llegó el día del fashion week y decidí ir con mi chaqueta blanca (siempre parto un look desde una idea o de las ganas de usar una prenda en particular, además me encanta el blanco! Creo que hoy por hoy es un color muy atemporal, que combinado de la forma correcta, da para todo tipo de ocasión!). Luego, pensé en llevar un look ¨white on white¨, poniéndome unos pantalones de tela beige y una polera blanca (hay que variar los tonos de blanco para conseguirlo). Me miré al espejo y encontré que se veía demasiado primaveral y acá está más bien invernal.

Aquí es donde entra a tallar el famoso trajedebaño/body! Lo encontré guardado y enseguida me pareció adecuado… el problema es que aun tenía ese escote gigantesco al medio! No me rendí y lo cosí rápidamente a mano! Y le dejé ese pequeño triangulito arriba, para que no perdiera toda la gracia! Jajajaja!

Como quedó un look tan ¨limpio¨, de cortes simples, decidí no sobrecargar con accesorios. La verdad es que soy un poco extrema con los accesorios: me lleno de accesorios enanísimos y coloridos cuando quiero lograr un look más relajado, o llevo solo unos o dos maxi accesorios. Ya sea un statement necklace, un buen brazalete o un anillo grande. Opté por un brazalete guinda/fucsia de carolina herrera (regalo de navidad de mi abuela, bendita seas jajajaja!) para romper con la combinación blanco/negro, un anillo de cristal negro swarovski y un maxi sobre.

Se sorprenderán si se fijan que normalmente no uso aros (aplica al respecto la misma dicotomía que les expliqué para los accesorios). Me hice un top knot, opté por un maquillaje sencillo, remarcando los pómulos, para conseguir que mi cara más bien ovalada se viera estilizada con el tomate. Acá el resultado:

I warn you that this post is a bit long!I’ve been asked a lot about this outfit =) As I’m starting the blog, let’s begin with a confession: the top I’m wearing is actually a swimsuit!A long time ago I saw this swimsuit in a Chilean store that imported this style of clothing! Unfortunately there were tons of problems with shipping and when I had already ordered it, I saw it in asos.com!! I made the purchase in December and it arrived in March (so, I don’t even want to tell you what store it was from).When I finally got it, I thought it was worth all the trouble and quickly I tried on!… and FAIL! It was a little too short for me. After all the hassle, I definitely I wasn’t in the mood to exchange it, but I didn’t want to waste my money either! So I decided that this swimsuit could be a bodysuit! The fabric was thick and opaque; besides, underneath pants, you couldn’t even notice the issue!! Although I was going to wear it like a bodysuit, it turned out that the chest part was too large and I had to do something about it. But I put it away as I had already thought of a solution.The first day of Fashion Week arrived, and the first thing that came to my mind was to wear a white jacket. (I always plan a look from one idea, or because I’m in the mood to use a particular cloth – besides, I love white! I think that is a classic color, which combined in the right way can be worn for any occasion!) Then, I thought to use a white-on-white look, wearing beige pants and a white cotton t-shirt (you have to mix different shades of white to get this look!). But, then I realized that this outfit was more of a spring look, and in Chile in July, it’s winter.

Here is where the bodysuit comes in! I found it saved away and thought it fit perfectly! However, it still had the cleavage problem! I didn’t give up, and I sewed it quickly by hand!! I left just a little triangle on the top – so I wouldn’t lose all the fun!

At this point the look was simple and clean, so I decided not to overdo it with too many accessories. The truth is I’m a bit extreme when it comes to accessories: I wear many little tiny colorful accessories, or one or two big ones like a statement necklace, a large ring or a bracelet for when I want a more relaxed appearance. For this look, I chose a Carolina Herrera fuchsia bracelet to break the monotony of the black and white, a big black crystal Swarovski ring, and a maxi clutch.

You may be surprised to know that I don’t usually wear many earrings! I made a topknot for my hairdo, simple makeup just to highlight my cheekbones and get a more contoured face.

Look día 2:

Este día hizo mucho más frío que el anterior! Así que opté por un maxi coat con cuello aglobado negro y combiné con azul: me puse debajo un vestido de ese color, y opté por tacos en tonos azul y negro (con los costados transparentes); después, le quise dar un aire más moderno, casi futurista, así que opté por una cartera hermosa de kipling de un color… indefinido! Jajajaja! Es metálico-café-dorado, con un brillo muy sutil platinado… sí… es como indefinido!

Normalmente me estresa llevar todo al tono, así que siempre busco algo ¨disonante¨ cuando ocupo pocos colores. Originalmente la cartera tiene una correa para cruzarla, pero se la saqué y la convertí en sobre. Finalmente, agregué un cinturón dorado por fuera del abrigo! Me encanta poner cinturones sobre los abrigos! Es increíble como puedes jugar con las siluetas del look. Obviamente como va arriba del abrigo y uno normalmente debajo va abrigada como oso, no se espera que te marque la cintura del tamaño original jajajaja! Lo interesante es jugar y cambiar la silueta del look!

Cuando mezclé, me pareció que parecían figuras geométricas superpuestas. Nuevamente sin querer estaba frente a un look limpio, de cortes simples. Después de un rato el outfit me parecía tan clásico y sin riesgo, que se me ocurrió que tenía que llevar un maquillaje al tono, con bloques marcadísimos azules en forma de óvalos (nadie me tuvo fe cuando lo comenté!).

Así que salí a investigar cómo podía usar una de mis sombras favoritas: atlantic blue de mac! El problema que solía tener con esta sombra, es que, como tengo la piel más bien mate, al aplicarla quedaba como opaca y deslavada, me explico, no quedaba igual de concentrado y brillante el pigmento en mi piel como se veía en el envase; pero la sequísima Pau, makeup artist de Mac Cosmetics Parque Arauco me ayudó (IG: @taopaupau)! La solución era poner de base el lápiz Calipso A93 de la colección playland, santo remedio! Acá todos los resultados:

Look day 2:

This day was so cold! So I went for a draped maxi coat and added blue: I wore a blue dress with navy heels. Then I wanted to give a more a modern touch to the look, adding a beautiful metallic golden-plated little purse; the color is indescribable!

Usually I don’t wear an outfit where all the colors match, so I like to add a very different color in order to to break it up. Originally, the purse had a cross-body strap but I took it off. To finish, I added a gold belt over the coat! I love wearing belts over coats; it is so cool how it can change a whole outfit. Plus, with the belt over the coat and all your other clothes, you’re not expected to maintain your original waist size 😉

When I finally looked at myself in the mirror with this outfit, it looked like overlapped geometric figures. Once again I faced a very simple and clean look. After a while, the outfit appeared so safe to me that I thought I should take a risk regarding my makeup, so I put two big blue ovals around my eyes (nobody thought it would actually work out when I told them this idea!).

So the solution was in one of my favorite eye shadows: MAC’s Atlantic blue. The problem I used to have with this eye shadow is that with my matte skin, the product’s pigment used to look very translucent and washed out. But Pau, a talented makeup artist from MAC cosmetics gave me the solution: I had to put on a very bright calypso eyeliner from the Playland collection underneath so that the pigment finally could show up! And it worked! Here are the results:

IMPOSIBLE terminar este post, sin destacar lo más importante del Santiago Fashion Week: los artistas. A continuación, mi favorito: Sebastián del Real Ossa, que nos mostró un desfile conceptual, la colección ¨Corazones¨, que a su vez (y para qué más acertado) se presentó con la canción Corazones, de Los Prisioneros de fondo. Totalmente revelador y reinvidicador del momento por el que pasa el diseño de autor chileno, por eso fue mi favorito por lejos!. Para no arruinarlo, les transcribo textual su definición de esta colección (extraído de su cuenta de Instagram).

//There’s no way I could finish this post without mentioning the most important thing in every fashion week: the designers. My favorite one was Sebastian del Real Ossa, who showed us a very conceptual collection named Corazones, that looked gorgeous on the runway while the famous Chilean Corazones song by Los Prisioneros was playing. Totally fearless! It expressed the complicated moment that Chilean designers are passing by.

¨Corazones – El génesis de “Corazones” habla del estrecho momento por el que pasa la moda de autor nacional. El cierre de tiendas emblemáticas del rubro nos pone a todos los creadores de indumentaria en una situación en la cual hay que ser determinados y reaccionarios. Esta colección atemporal nace a partir de la sensación de miedo y habla de la incertidumbre y de todos los sentimientos que vienen a continuación. El desamor, la rabia, la pasión y la paz aparecen como palabras claves dentro del proceso de enfrentar este miedo, y son estas las que se toman como concepto para desarrollar este proyecto. El vestuario de esta pasarela se presenta como una armadura, un elemento protector ante este escenario oscuro y confuso, el cual va alivianándose y despejándose, tal como el miedo va dejando de serlo en la medida en la que se enfrenta. Un ser humano algo animal, intenso y muy potente es el que veremos a continuación, envuelto en materiales poco tradicionales, presentando siluetas largas y ajustadas, que definen el cuerpo protegiéndolo del exterior. Piel sintética, charol, látex y gasas son las texturas que le dan carácter a cada look, de impronta femenina y monarcal.
